Quantum leap for
high-performing teams

An experiential workshop using the |HOP> game to explore and improve team dynamics through quantum physics metaphors

4 hours
12-20 participants (optimal), up to 32 participants maximum
Quantum metaphors for team dynamics

Workshop overview

This workshop uses the strategic game |HOP> as a catalyst to explore and improve team dynamics. The principles of quantum physics are not the subject but serve as powerful metaphors for navigating complexity, interdependence, and uncertainty in the modern workplace. The focus is 80% on team dynamics and 20% on leveraging scientific concepts as metaphors.

Methodology

Iterative & Incremental Gameplay, Training from the Back of the Room

Target audience

  • Teams seeking to improve collaboration, communication, and strategic execution
  • Leaders aiming to foster a culture of adaptability and resilience
  • Agile Coaches & Facilitators looking for innovative tools for team development

Quantum metaphors for team dynamics

Understanding team performance through quantum physics principles

Classical vs. quantum systems

Siloed vs. unified teams

Traditional teams operate in isolation like classical particles, while high-performing teams demonstrate quantum-like interconnectedness and shared states.

Entanglement

Interdependence & shared goals

When team members become "entangled," their actions and decisions instantly affect the entire team, creating true collaborative synergy.

Superposition

Handling multiple options

Teams can explore multiple strategic possibilities simultaneously before "collapsing" into the optimal decision through collective observation.

The measurement effect

Impact of Observation/KPIs

How we measure and observe team performance fundamentally changes team behavior and outcomes.

Duality / Changing game rules

Adapting to new realities

Teams must adapt their approach when external conditions change, just like quantum particles exhibit different behaviors under different experimental conditions.

Note about quantum physics

No prior knowledge of quantum physics is required. The game uses metaphors to make complex concepts accessible and applicable to team dynamics.
